Obituary For Julia Ann Haughn
Julia Ann Haughn, 77, of Saluda, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, July 17, 2021. She was a daughter of the late John William and Audrey Knecht Heydel.
Julia was born in Clarksville, Tennessee but spent most of her childhood in Long Island, New York. She relocated to Florida with her family as a young teen, where later on she met her husband, Robert, and raised a family of her own. Thereafter, Julia and Robert settled in the small town of Saluda, North Carolina, where she enjoyed the peaceful serenity of life in the mountains, and the beauty of her beloved flower garden.
Surviving to cherish the memory of Julia’s kind and caring spirit is her loving husband of 59 years, Robert Franklin Haughn; daughter, Denice Pak; son, Daryl Haughn and wife Bernadette; five grandchildren, Taylor Pak-Giordano and husband Christopher Giordano, Brandon Pak, Tara Pak, Sarah Haughn and Robert V. Haughn; and her sister, Carin Garoutte and family, all of Florida.
Private family services will be held.
Julia (a.k.a. Grammy) was no ordinary grandma. She was the kindest, sweetest and most selfless person you could ever meet. She was always there for me, my brother Brandon, and my sister Tara, and would do anything to make sure we were happy. Every Halloween, Grammy would make our costumes from scratch to help us win the costume contest that year - and we won every year. We would try to return the favor by saving all of the Butterfinger candy bars we could find. They were her favorite. I will always cherish the memories like these that we made with Grammy. She will always be remembered. Love, Taylor
