Obituary For Viola Florence Walker
Viola Florence Walker, 92, a lifelong resident of Henderson County passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at her home. She was a daughter of the late Jesse Flem and Carrah Haynes McCraw. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Stanley T. Walker, Sr. and two sons, Jay F. and Jerry T. Walker; three brothers, Ralph, Sonny and Glover McCraw; and four sisters, Zoda Mae Hawkins, Maude Ogle, Lavinia Garren and Elizabeth Crisp.
Surviving to cherish her memory are two sons, Stanley T. Walker, Jr. (wife, Bevie) of Saluda and Joel Robert Walker of Chesnee, SC; one brother, Carl McCraw; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held 3 pm on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Mud Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Mathis officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2 pm.

I was honored to get to know sweet, kind Viola when I worked at a local optical shop almost 40 years ago and she filled in occasionally. Then we would visit down at Cornbread Corner restaurant. Time passed but it was always a pleasure to run into her at the grocery or the voting polls and catch up a bit. She was very special.
