Craig Sanford Stevenson March 22, 1960 - March 5, 2020

Craig Sanford Stevenson was a long-time resident of Naples, FL.  He moved to Newland, NC in 2018 and that is where he spent the rest of his days here on earth. He passed away on March 5th, 2020.  He was born March 22, 1960 in Chicago, IL to Ben and Muriel Stevenson (Lutgert).  He was preceded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by his son, Leif Stevenson; mother of his son, Natalie Stevenson; sister Candy Alaimo of Naples; and brother, Ber Stevenson of Fort Myers Beach, FL; one nephew and two nieces.

Craig moved to Naples, FL in 1964 with his mother, sister and brother.  He attended Lake Park Elementary, Gulfview Middle and Graduated from Naples High School in 1978.  He also attended Brooks Prep School and World Travel School.

Craig’s childhood was extraordinary as was his imagination.  He was always the most curious, asking why, how and can I do it too?  He achieved and loved tennis, golf, water skiing, wake boarding, boating, motorcycles and in-depth knowledge of automobiles. He was always working on something whether it be a boat, car or motorcycle. He loved rebuilding them and bringing them back to life.  Craig loved the outdoors, the Gulf of Mexico and The Appalachian Mountains were his backyard playground, sanctuary and solace.  Wherever he was, you were invited. He was always generous with his time and friends.  He enjoyed fine food and fine wine.  He learned the Craft of Master Chef from fine dining and a collection of vintage wines from around the world.

As a friend he shared his emotions of adventure, humor and love for Jam music. Along with his love of music and people his greatest love of life was his son Leif.  He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
