Dan slipped the bonds of Alzheimer’s and touched the face of God October 10, 2020. One of seven siblings, Dan was the second son of Bob Block of Detroit and Josie Simmons of Corunna. He was an US Air Force veteran, 30-year employee of Ford Motor Company and retiree for 21 years. Dan was funny, the life of the party, a loyal friend, a rabid sports enthusiast, and a devout Catholic, who prayed for you whether you asked him to or not.
He is survived by his long-suffering and devoted wife, Karen Quinn of Corunna and his children David, Mary, and Carolyn who learned all their bad habits at their father’s knee. He is also survived by his big brother, David, two frequently unimpressed younger sisters, Dianne and Debbie, his aunt, Jackie Simmons of Sarnia who “loved that guy,” and many other members of his Canadian and American families.
He loved us and we loved him. We will miss you, L’il Danny. Rest easy, whole in mind and body once again. Services at St. Joseph’s Church in Corunna when the US/Canada border reopens.
