Lawrence Joseph Greco of Hendersonville, NC passed away on December 31, 2020. Lawrence was born to Samuel Greco and Louise Gioia on April 26, 1929. He grew up in New York City and graduated from Fordham University with a master’s degree in philosophy. He served his county for two years during the Korean War era. Larry went on to pursue a teaching career in which he taught Latin and German languages at t Lakeland HS in New Jersey. Upon retiring Larry, ever the teacher, served as an interpretive ranger at the Wright Brothers National Memorial and Fort Raleigh NHS.
Lawrence loved the Catholic Church. He called St. Barnabas and Immaculate Conception Catholic his Church homes. He was a staunch opponent of Vatican II and never hesitated when given the opportunity to defend the old church and all things Latin.
In addition to his parents his sister Louise and brother Alberts preceded Lawrence in death. Surviving are a brother Samuel and sister Vera, as well as, children, Bernard, Richard, Robert, and Andrea.
In deference to the Covid-19 pandemic a memorial service will be announce at a later date.
