Maxwell Nicholas Norwood January 10, 1991 - June 28, 2019

Maxwell Nichols Norwood, 28 died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on June 28, 2019.  He was the son of Frank and Lynne Norwood of Leicester.

Max graduated from North Buncombe High School, and played for the Blackhawks Football Team as #42. He attended Emma Heights Church of God. He had a great love of music and motorcycles.

In addition to his parents he is survived by two grandmothers, Salli Quackenbos of Gulf Breeze, FL and Joy Clipper of Lillian, AL; grandfather, LeRoy Norwood and his wife Patricia Norwood of Milton, FL; aunts, Sherry Gilman and her husband Ed Gilman, Kathye Porter and her husband Bobby; uncle, Pete Quackenbos; cousins, Zach Levey, Danny Gilman and his wife Jennie, and Eddie Gilman.

A memorial service will be held on July 14, 2019 from 4-6pm at Emma Heights Church of God, 645 Emma Rd. Asheville, NC.

    I was so incredibly sorry to hear about the tragic loss of Max. He and my son played ball together in middle school and high school. Max was always so very kind and had a heart of gold. He would occasionally come to our house to visit and it was always a pleasure talking and laughing with him. I can’t imagine the pain you are going through. Praying for you folks during this very difficult time.
