Philip Ervin Sebestyen November 8, 1998 - July 9, 2020

Philip Ervin Sebestyen, 21, of Asheville, NC, left this Earth on July 9, 2020 from injuries sustained in an auto accident.  He was the son of Ervin and Zenaida Sebestyen.

Philip, Püpe, Phil, Phil-the-Dill Sebastian… he went by a handful of names –  was passionate about life in general, big nature lover, but perhaps most passionate about music, a self-taught amazing bass player. He spent hours on end learning the bass guitar and honing his skills to be able to play just about any instrument he picked up: ukulele, didgeridoo, trumpet, all kinds of guitars, and the bass clarinet.

His soul was one of the purest. With every chance he got, he showed love to people and made people smile, even people he didn’t know at all. He loved to read about spirituality and human behavior, and he was a profound thinker.

In most of his pictures and videos, you’ll likely see him playing music, dancing, making people laugh, or just enjoying nature. He loved hiking and even just sitting outside soaking in the beauty or discussing his thoughts on the world.

He loved going on long hikes, sitting on a rock by a mountain stream, read… and write in his journal….

In addition to his parents Ervin and Aida, he leaves behind two sisters: Alexa and Adriana.

His family remembers having a few conversations with him about the afterlife and he said he would love to be reincarnated as a tree or an animal to truly become one with nature. Though that may have already happened, we have decided to plant a tree with his ashes in the backyard so that he can continue to live on with us.

No local services are planned at this time.
