Timothy Austin Kelly, 38 of Hendersonville passed away on April 22, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the son of Timothy J. Kelly and the late Colleen Kelly-McCarthy. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Celia Kelly.
Born Valentine’s day, 1983 with a head full of wavy black hair, holding your gaze with deep blue eyes, he was impossible not to love. His friends admired him; his son adored him. Whenever a crowd gathered with him it was full of comradery, fun, and underlying affection, not to mention great food. He was a master angler and would rather be on the water with friends than anywhere else. He had a detailed knowledge of computers and fine mechanics and built and programmed his own drones. He served his country bravely in the US Army, seeing action in the Iraq war. He returned and began raising his son and started a promising career. When he was diagnosed with terminal cancer, he faced it with unparalleled resolve. The community he embraced returned his love, so evident in these past weekend gatherings at his home which became a reflection of his fully lived life.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his son, Timothy F. J. Kelly; stepmother, Loree Kelly; and his loyal cat of 14 years, “Masterchief”.
He earned the love and respect of his father.
He met his maker accompanied by the love of all that came to know him.
He will be missed.
Services with military honors will be held at 12noon on Monday, May 3, 2021 at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain.
