Timothy L. (Tim) Forsythe, 59, passed away unexpectedly on October 16, 2018 in Hendersonville, NC. Born in Akron, OH on October 17, 1958, Tim grew up in Copley, OH and graduated from Copley High School in 1976. He attended The University of Akron and the Gemological Institute of America.
While still in high school, Tim developed a passion for jewelry design and fabrication that he pursued for over 30 years. During that time, he created custom pieces for Llyn Strong Fine Jewelry in Greenville, SC; Cochran’s Jewelers in Greenville, SC; Park Jewelers in Sanford, FL; Goldsmith by Rudi in Hendersonville, SC., as well as numerous commissioned pieces in his own shop.
Tim will be remembered for his creative artistry, his kindness, his quick smile and wry sense of humor, and — above all — the generosity with which he shared his art, his possessions, and his time with friend and stranger alike.
Tim is survived by his mother Jean; siblings Carol, Philip, and Stephen; nieces Abby, Jessica, and Michelle; nephews Brandon, Daniel, Jonathan, and Sean; 5 great nieces and nephews; and cats Bling and Maggie.
Tim will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life was held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, at the Blue Firefly Inn in Saluda, NC. His family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to his many friends who joined us to share memories of Tim.
