William Hall Patton, 91, of Fairview passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Universal Health Care. A native of Buncombe County he was a son of the late Charles and Ida Louise Garren Patton. He was also preceded in death by his three sister’s and four brothers.
Mr. Patton served in the US Army at the end of WWII and then in the Marines during the Korean War. He was a member of Mills Gap Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir and was baptized at the age of 84. He worked as a surveyor up until his retirement at the age of 77. A quiet but gentle and kind man is the best way to describe him. William loved the Yankees and Duke Basketball.
Surviving him is a nephew, Joseph Hollifield whom Mr. Patton lived with and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, December 6, 2019 at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Wilkie officiating.
